LGBTQ+ Women’s Summer Sports Day 2023 - Railway Union

On June 17th 2023 we were delighted to partner with some amazing organisations and sports tream to host our second Summer Sports day for women and non-binary folk from the LGBTQ+ community at Railway Union Sports Club, Dublin.

Following the success of our last two LGBTQ+ women’s sports events it was decided we would create another day of opportunities of sports & socialising in healthy outdoor spaces as it’s important to create spaces for community members to hang out, have the craic and get to know new people.

Sport is more than just an activity to get the heart rate going. If used creatively it can encompass so much more, especially in terms of the social and mental health benefits it can provide. There are numerous LGBTQ+ inclusive sports clubs across the country, a list of which can be found here, so why not reach out now and find your community!

Huge thank you to Pink Ladies Hockey Club, Na Gaeil Aeracha inclusive GAA team and LGBT+ Softball - Stoneballerz for lending their wonderful expertise & fun on the day!

“Dublin City Sport and Wellbeing Partnership DCSWP is part of Dublin City Council and has a specific role in facilitating opportunities for everyone in our communities to partake in sport and physical activity through our dedicated programmes, services and facilities.  Congratulations to all that took part in this event, there were plenty of laughs on the day!” - Maz Reilly - DCSWP (dcswphub.ie)
