Taking place on Sun 26th Feb 2023 from 15:45, Sporting Pride and Basketball Ireland are inviting LGBTQ+ community members to try out the fast and furious sport of Basketball in Trinity College Sports Centre, followed by light refreshments and chat!
Suitable for adults of all ages and sporting abilities, this one hour Open Session will be run by Basketball Ireland's Development Officer, involving some warm-up drills, followed by a scrimmage / practice game.
Basketball is one of the world's most popular sports and a brilliant way to get - and stay! - fit. It is also consistently on the sports programme of Euro and Gay Games tournaments - so, depending on demand, we hope this Open Day to lead to a regular LGBTQ+ basketball group meeting up and playing and maybe, in the future, a team of players can represent Ireland at an international multi-sport LGBTQ+ tournament!
The €3 Open Day entry fee includes an hour of coaching/playing, plus light refreshments afterwards.
This Open Day in the fantastic facilities of Trinity College Sports Centre (Eircode D02 W085) is for all LGBTQ+ community members, their family, friends and work colleagues and any LGBTQ+ allies looking to try something new! It is also an opportunity for people to network with other members of the community in a warm, welcoming, friendly environment.
