Sporting Pride is seeking proposals for the coordination and delivery of a funding call to LGBTQ+ sports clubs across the island of Ireland under the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Shared Island Civic Society Fund programme:

Sport for All - Empowering LGBTQ+ Participation and Inclusion Across the Island

The programme will support club-led initiatives with a cross-border element, encouraging collaboration between LGBTQ+ sports clubs in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Interested parties are invited to submit an approximate cost for the entire project, together with an estimated number of hours required.

The successful coordinator will oversee the development, promotion, administration and reporting of the funding programme, working closely with Sporting Pride throughout the process.

Module 1 - Programme Development & Application Design

  • Develop a grant application form aligned with programme objectives and budget criteria

  • Define eligible activities with a clear cross-border participation focus

  • Develop guidance notes for applicant clubs

  • Establish a clear application process and submission deadline

Example project types may include:

  • Joint activities between clubs in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland

  • Exchange visits between clubs in similar sports

  • Replication of successful programmes across the island, such as Women and Non-Binary Sports Days

  • Cross-border training sessions or competitions

  • Inclusive sports development initiatives

Module 2 - Programme Promotion & Club Engagement

  • Develop and coordinate a call-out to LGBTQ+ sports clubs across Ireland

  • Promote the funding opportunity through:

    • Email communications

    • Sporting Pride networks

    • Social media

    • Direct club contacts

  • Respond to enquiries from interested clubs

  • Encourage applications with strong cross-border collaboration

Module 3 - Assessment Process & Governance

  • Develop assessment criteria aligned with funding requirements

  • Assist in establishing and coordinating a review subcommittee

  • Prepare application summaries for review

  • Coordinate review meetings

  • Support the assessment and scoring of applications

  • Prepare a list of recommended projects for funding

Module 4 - Awarding Funding

  • Notify successful and unsuccessful applicants

  • Provide clear conditions of funding

  • Issue funding agreements where required

  • Coordinate the transfer of grant funding to successful clubs

  • Maintain accurate records of funded projects

Module 5 - Project Monitoring & Compliance

  • Liaise with funded clubs throughout project delivery

  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with approved proposals and funding criteria

  • Provide guidance and support to clubs where required

  • Track project progress and timelines

Module 6 - Reporting & Financial Administration

  • Collect receipts and supporting documentation from funded clubs

  • Ensure compliance with DFAT reporting requirements

  • Maintain records of expenditure

  • Prepare a final programme report for the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Team Ireland Coordinator for Gay Games 2026

Sporting Pride is seeking proposals for the coordination and delivery of Team Ireland activities before, during and after the Gay Games XII in Valencia, taking place from 27 June (Sat) - 4 July (Sat) 2026.

Interested parties are invited to submit an approximate total cost for the full project, together with an estimated number of hours required per module.

The role involves participant coordination, communications, event organisation and logistical support for Team Ireland participants travelling to Valencia from Ireland and abroad.

The successful coordinator will work closely with Sporting Pride to ensure a well-organised and visible Team Ireland presence throughout the Gay Games programme.

Module 1 - Team Ireland Registration & Participant Tracking (March)

  • Create a Team Ireland registration Google Form with submission deadline

  • Circulate the form via LGBTQ+ sports clubs, email, social media and ezines

  • Encourage participants to register before the deadline to be included in the Team Ireland branded kit programme

  • Monitor responses and maintain a participant database

  • Analyse results and produce a summary report on projected attendance

Module 2 - Team Ireland Branded Kit (March)

  • Coordinate the design and production of Team Ireland branded gear, based on the agreed Sporting Pride budget and confirmed participant numbers

  • Liaise with suppliers and partners regarding logos and branding requirements, including the Department of Foreign Affairs and The George

  • Manage ordering and production timelines

Module 3 - Team Ireland Branding Materials (April)

  • Coordinate production of a Team Ireland branded flag

  • Ensure the flag is available for the Opening Ceremony and Team Ireland meeting points

Module 4 - Áras an Uachtaráin Visit (TBC – May/June)

Coordinate a potential Team Ireland visit to Áras an Uachtaráin to meet the President of

Ireland. Responsibilities may include:

  • Liaison with participants and the President’s Office

  • Organising a pre-event meeting point and group transport (eg Dublin Bus)

  • Booking a photographer

  • Inviting VIP guests (e.g. GCN, The George, Sport Ireland, Department of Foreign Affairs)

  • Coordinating event logistics on the day

  • Organising a post-event social gathering in The George

  • Preparing a post-event press release with photographs

Module 5 - Kit Distribution (May/June)

  • Organise delivery and distribution of branded gear

  • Coordinate a collection event in The George (Dublin)

  • Manage participant communications regarding collection arrangements

Module 6 – Support for Participants in Valencia (can be delivered remotely)

  • Pre-travel participant communications

  • Establish and manage a Team Ireland WhatsApp group

  • Coordinate Opening Ceremony arrangements

  • Establish an informal “Irish House” meeting point (e.g. Irish pub) where Team Ireland participants can connect during the week

  • Coordinate distribution of kit and branded tops onsite

  • Arrange event photography

Module 7 - Post-Games Team Ireland Event

  • Organise a post-Gay Games gathering in The George

  • Coordinate invitations and communications

  • Manage event logistics on the day
