Bringing Sport and the LGBTQ+ Community Closer

Welcome!

We are Sporting Pride; a non-profit LGBTQ+ community organisation that focuses on developing inclusivity in sport, and sports clubs within the whole Irish community.

With community engagement, we feel sport can act as a medium for breaking down societal obstacles. Through events, sports club development, and education our aim is for Sporting Pride’s work to act as a catalyst for changing inequality in Irish sport and beyond. We are passionate about this and hope it inspires others to do the same and make sport a safer place for all.

What We Do

Sports Club Development

One of our main objectives is the development of LGBTQ+ community Sports Clubs. Our organisation empowers these clubs by providing resources, guidance, and financial support to help them thrive.

Events

At Sporting Pride, we are proud to organise a wide range of events that cater to sports enthusiasts of all levels.

Advice & Policy

As a pillar in the Irish LGBTQ+ Sport community we are always happy to advise our ally organisations where we can, and guide in a direction that creates a safer world for the Queer community.

Collaborations

As a minority organisation we know that part Queer liberation comes from effectively collaborating with ally organisations. Whether it's partnering with local sports clubs, national governing bodies, or non-profit we understand that working together is crucial for community wellbeing.

Team Ireland

Under the Irish flag we aim to provide an inclusive space for athletes of all levels to participate in LGBTQ+ sport competitions. With a focus on multi-sports events, such as EuroGames, and the Gay Games; Team Ireland will bring together a dynamic community of LGBTQ+ individuals, fostering camaraderie, competition, and celebration.

#Lets Get Visible Campaign

Sporting Pride, and Sport Ireland are ecstatic to announce the 2023 #Lets Get Visible campaign.

We launch this campaign during Pride month, a very special time for the LGBTQ+ community. Let’s get visible aims to recognise, and acknowledge the importance of visibility and representation of the LGBTQ+ community in the sports sector. In a time where LGBTQ+ rights are under constant threat, and scrutiny, this is the call for allies of our community to stand up and fight with us against anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric.
